The elegant writer is a wonderful option for those of you that like to draw and paint. This is an exciting way to add some pizzazz to your art.
Assignment:
Students are to create a composition of overlapping shapes and objects inspired by nature. Remember the rules of composition we learned in class. Remember to use small, medium and large shapes. A focal point should be obvious to the viewer and all objects interacting with the others. Use textures such as hatching, cross hatching, stippling, and scumbling. Create depth by adding textures and by adding marker pigment to create highlights, mid-tones, and shadows to create form. No flat shapes and plain outlines. Change the pressure of your marks to make them thick and thin and break up the lines.
Add some spritz of water to break up the lines and loosen up your process.
