This is the assignment you have been waiting for! Students will be focusing on taking photographs in a particular category with minimal editing on the finals. The categories you may choose from are the following:
Portraits
Architecture
Nature: Close-up and landscapes
Still life/advertisement
Street Photography
Students will also focus part of the assignment on developing a creative levitation and high dynamic range final. One of the images may be used for the digital painting/drawing assignment if you do not want to create a drawing from scratch.
Assignment:
Students will shoot a minimum of 24 pictures based on one of the the above listed themes. Students will also shoot 5 images of a single scene using to create a final HDR image using exposure compensation or shutter priority. One image for the digital painting assignment.
A focus on using cropping through the viewfinder and creating a strong composition with techniques such as rule of thirds, dynamic composition, s-curves, framing, triangular composition and/or diagonal lines for movement.

Students will-
How to use a variety of composition techniques to take a well composed photo.
How to use photo editing software to enhance their photo using various adjustment tools.
How to use photo editing software tools such as patch tool, burn and dodge, spot healing and other touch up tools to improve the photo’s value.
How to use basic camera functions
