Assignment: Students are working with Mrs. Kozlowski's English class to create a painting based on a literary term studied in the English Department. Art students will work collaboratively to create a design for the term in class. Students will be partnered with a student and term in a meeting outside of class. Designs will be based on the concept of the illuminated manuscript. Students will study various western and middle eastern works of art from the middle ages. The lecture will cover the introduction of the first printing press and how it changed the art and history of that time period. Students may work with a partner to design a large 30x40 inch canvas painting. The rest of students will work independently on canvases ranging from 10x10 inches to 20x20 inches.
Please see presentation below for ideas, or if you missed the lecture the information will help you catch-up on what you missed in class.
