Nudging

In school leadership, nudging is a means by which leaders prod people's choices in a direction by deliberately articulating, organizing and arranging the norms and structures of a school to increase teacher efficacy and collective improvement.

Normative nudges involve language and how expectations, values, and purpose are communicated by leaders (see "Leading the Conversation").

Structural nudges involve the way that groups, schedules, meetings, and the physical environments are arranged to encourage productive work.
