Mill Mill

Mill mill (also sometimes called mixed pair share) is a cooperative participation strategy where the teacher asks students to mill around the room and then shouts, "get in groups of X" (usually groups of 2-4) and then poses a question for the group to discuss.

This technique can be used anytime the teacher feels it is time for some movement, but can also be used as an opening activity where students are asked a series of questions (milling in between) that help to surface prior knowledge, activate interest, or focus students on their goals.
