Licensure in NH & VT: Adding Endorsements

Adding an endorsement after graduation.

There are pathways (that can be somewhat complex and cumbersome) for adding endorsements to your teaching license after graduating from the UVEI Teacher Intern Program and earning a license.

Vermont requires a transcript review process.

New Hampshire requires you to go through alternatives 3, 4 or 5.

While, in some circumstances, UVEI (in partnership with UVGSE) can support this work through targeted learning experiences/credits, UVEI does not have programs specifically designed for this purpose (other than our traditional programs). Candidates must work directly with the relevant state agency independent of UVEI.

Depending on the primary area of licensure and the additional endorsement being sought, UVEI may be able to offer a modified version of our program for those seeking to add a license following graduation. Such a program would include, at least:

  • A clinical setting in the target endorsement area.
  • Demonstration of required competency through aligned performance assessments (including but not limited to: Lesson Study, Analysis of Student Work, Unit Planning, Observations of Instruction, and/or TCAP in the target subject areas).
  • Engaging in relevant learning opportunities to develop skills towards the required level of competency.
