5.2: Industrial Images

Objective: Students will be able to explain the impact that the Industrial Revolution had on the people living in the US by examining and discussing contemporary photographs.

Vocabulary: tenement, textile, assembly line

Directions:

1. Get a copy of the worksheet (click here to view the worksheet)
2. Open this Google Slides presentation to view various images from the Industrial Revolution. Make sure that you can view the speaker notes because they describe the images that you are looking at.
   • Click here to view a separate page with all of the speaker notes (note: the numbers correspond with the slide number)
3. Answer the questions on the front of the worksheet by looking over the presentation and speaker notes.
4. Complete the closure (directions on the last slide of the presentation). If you choose options 1-3, complete the closure on the back of the page. If you choose option 4, complete it on a blank sheet of paper and staple it to the worksheet.
