Unit Goals:
Students will be introduced to 9 major world religions
Students will present a Google Slides presentation of their creation
Students will analyze the origin, development, basic beliefs, distribution, and ancient contributions for major world religions, including Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism, Shinto, Taoism, and Zorastrianism
Students will compare and contrast the social, political, and cultural impact of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism on the world today
Students will analyze the dynamics between religions in different regions; e.g., India (Hindu and Islam), Middle East (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), and western Europe (Catholic and Protestant)
Students will describe the role of religion and warfare in ancient and modern governments and society
Students will learn about intellectuals and their achievements during the Islamic Golden Age and the Italian Renaissance, including nautical technology, the printing press, and more
