The Cold War was also fought through many proxy wars. A proxy war is a war where the two main opponents do not face each other directly, but through other countries. Two examples of this in Asia are the Korean and Vietnam War. Furthermore, China's development as a communist country will be a major factor during the Cold War.
It is also worth noting that Asia covers a lot of territory. I had considered dividing this into two topics on East Asia and Southeast Asia. But for brevity's sake, I am combining all events in these rather large geographic territory into one. There are going to be a lot of sources for this one, but I will keep the questions simple and to the point.
