Objective: Students will be able to identify key figures and important ideas from the Enlightenment by answering questions on a worksheet based on a short presentation and a jigsaw reading of multiple philosophes

Directions:

  1. Get a copy of this worksheet
  2. Watch this introductory video of the Enlightenment
  3. Complete questions 1-9 on the worksheet by viewing this Google Slides presentation
  4. Fill out the graphic organizer on the worksheet based on this reading of important philosophes
  5. In the space provided on the worksheet, write a paragraph arguing that the Enlightenment is important to history. Use CEA (Claim, Evidence, Analysis) format and include at least 3 pieces of evidence that refer to the ideas of 3 different philosophes. You may need to attach a lined sheet of paper if the space provided is not enough.
