Welcome to a world where Greek gods and mythology become reality to twelve-year old Percy. This is “The Lightning Thief”, a fantasy book by well-acclaimed author Rick Riordan.

In the book, Percy is directed by a satyr to Camp Half Blood, a safe haven for Greek demigods like himself. There he meets Annabeth, a daughter of the wisdom goddess, Athena. But then Percy finds out he’s in “godly” trouble, literally. He is right in the middle of the Gods’ fighting. The theme is not everything is as it seems.

This book has a lot of action and adventure. It really brings mythology to the real world. This book has won the Hampshire Book Award. If you have never read any of Rick Riordan’s books or even have read a lot of them, you will really enjoy this book.
