Have you heard of the major motion picture, The Hunger Games? Well, you may know that it was a book first! And by the way, the book is so much better! This futuristic fiction book by Suzanne Collins is full of action and maybe a little bit of a love triangle...but I won’t say anything about that... You’ll just have to read this amazing novel!

The story opens up on an 16 year old girl, Katniss Everdeen. She lives in an dictatorship run by the Capitol. Their country is split up into 12 districts, all of them having something special that they do. District 12, where Katniss lives, is by far the poorest district. They earn their living by mining, which causes many deaths, including one that impacted Katniss in some very strong ways. Katniss supports her family by hunting in the forbidden land beyond the fence with her friend, Gale. Every year the Capitol holds the “Hunger Games” where every district has to send two tributes, a teenage girl and a teenage boy, into an arena where they fight to the death with the other tributes. This year, Prim, Katniss’s little sister gets picked. Katniss can’t stand to see her sister die, so she volunteers herself as tribute. Katniss goes into the arena with her partner, the baker’s son, Peeta. The Games starts, and well, you’ll just have to read the book to find out what happens

I would recommend this book because it has a little something for everyone, action and adventure, and a little bit of romance... This book will suck you in right away! The author knows exactly how to grab your attention! The characters are so relatable, you’ll connect to them right away! The book is so good, you’ll have to read the whole trilogy!
