Imagine yourself on a bush plane with only a pilot and yourself. Then suddenly the pilot has a heart attack and dies, everything changes in just a few seconds, first a pilot flying a plane, then suddenly the pilot has a heart attack and can’t fly the plane. What would you do, when all there is, is a forest of trees below and no sight of clear land. The book “Hatchet,” by Gary Paulsen takes you into a world of survival. “Hatchet” is a book to be hooked on. If you are someone who is good at survival, this is the book for you. You get to see how the main character survives in the forest or wilderness, without knowing how. But then again practice makes progress.
Brian, the main character faces many challenges in the wild, but he has one thing that may help him in the wilderness, determination. He works hard for things in the wild, he tries new strategies when others don’t work. Even people who know how to survive in the wilderness could learn a thing or two from Brian.
Will Brian survive? Read the book to find out.I recommend this book completely, even if you do not know anything about surviving in the wild, this can still be the perfect book for you. On top of all of that the author of “Hatchet”, Gary Paulsen won a Newbery Award for his book. I think that Hatchet”is a great book, by a great author. The only way for you to figure out if “Hatchet is a good book, is to read it.
