Insurgent, by Veronica Roth, a riveting experience into the world of science fiction, told from the perspective of the rising rebel, Beatrice “Tris” Prior. The 5 factions who were once united, are now in war.As a Divergent, Tris must hide to protect her life from the faction, Erudite, who view the Divergent as a threat to the faction system and will not rest until every single Divergent is killed. Not to mention she has to face it all without the help of her parents, who have died for her.
It’s starting. The war is starting. Tris and her loved ones must not be found. And if they are, their lives will be instantly in jeopardy from Jeanine Matthews, the leader of the Erudite based solely on her high IQ. Tris, Tobias, and some others are always on the hunt, wherever they are, whether or not they're pretending to be someone they’re not. Along the way, Tris may lose friend after friend, make an ally, or create an enemy, but the heartbreaking betrayal might just be the end. But Tris knows what she has to do even if it means risking her own life just so the people around her can keep theirs: She has to be brave.
I would recommend this book to everyone who has not only read the first book in the series (Divergent), but also has an understanding for mature themes and situations. Veronica Roth is an amazing New York Times bestselling author who has done many brave things herself, so she can really relate to a character like Tris, who must learn to overcome many obstacles and fears all throughout the book. Being that she is also very courageous she can shape Tris to be relatable and very human-like more than a futuristic alien, but someone that readers can connect to and understand. The entire book is a wildcard that no one can predict .
