Assessing Criteria A
NBPS Student Criteria A
NBPS Student Criteria A
Achieved Level 4 because the student:
- (strand i) : Identifies a problem and gives a few examples of why it is a problem and develops a simple brief that identifies few relevant parameters of the problem
- (strand ii) low: Identifies an appropriate problem that leads to a design opportunity
- (strand iii) low: Describes an appropriate problem that leads to a design opportunity
The student would have achieved a higher level if they had:
- (strand i): Better explain why cheaper is better
- (strand ii): Do more market research to help support market specifications
- (strand iii): Explain why that design was chosen if it provided a better internet speed per dollar.
The NBPS example is better than the IBO sampler because:
- The IBO sampler had a problem but the problem was really broad. He was trying to help kids with ADHD and Autism the same way.
- The NBPS example had a very good grasp on the problem and good research as well even though his explanations were lacking
- The IBO sampler's design is out of the stone age. In a class called design tech you think someone would be better able to come up with a better product than a box that kids stick their head in. should've asked kids or people with ADHD and Autism what they thought about sticking their head in a box.
