You are a group of anthropologists, recently returned from a visit to study Umuofian culture in situ, at its height in the 1890’s. To present your recent findings, you are to create a seven slide keynote, laden with useful observations from your “field observations,” [the novel] as well as any other images you see fit, to present to the Anthropologists’ Society at 8.30 on Monday morning.
Things to consider. . . .
family structure authority moral structure (ideas of right and wrong)
religion fate/free will dispute mediation
warfare role of violence conflicts w/in the society
Possible inclusions:
medicine? fun? music? clothing?
PLEASE be sure to cite (this doesn’t count in your slide count!) any images and/or outside quotations, and be sure to be as precise as possible in your use of images. “African mask” is wayyyyyyyy too generic for a demanding, well-respected anthropologist like you--”Nigerian tribal mask” or “Igbo mask” is more applicable.
BE CAREFUL OF SITES THAT REFER SPECIFICALLY TO THE BOOK AS THEY OFTEN CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have fun. . . .
