Wed, Dec. 10: Advisory; Holiday concert! Yay! ALso: brainstorming meeting for MDIHS Readers & Writers in 119 2:30 - 3:30. Please come!
Quick catch up on last night's reading;
groups: generate list of themes? quotes that relate to them: generate a list
Personalities
Fig. language examples
h/w: GET YOUR SLIP o' PAPER! Then: read the Wedding scene--( 123 - 145) Act IV, i THE WEDDING THAT WASN’T: Yeah, it’s long , but it’s full of what the Germans call “sturm and drang” and it’ll read pretty fast. Study the person you have chosen or been assigned, answer the following questions IN WRITING ON PAPER, NOT ON YOUR LAPTOP: How does your character respond to the charges against Hero? What are his/her concerns and emotions? Do they change? Why? What does this scene reveal about your character’s personality and attitude toward trusting others? IF your person exits early, be sure to read the end of the scene so you know THE PLAN that they come up with. THIS IS A MAJOR SCENE; it is LIKELY there will be a quiz. . . hint, hint. . . . Note, again, our four big flags: Plot--Themes--Techniques/Fig. Lang.--Personalities. What do you see that's important? You will be assigned a character to "track," but keep your eyes open for other developments as well.
Thursday, Dec. 11: HOMEWORK CLUB: Last one before progress reports, so use this time well!
Wedding scene discussion: fig. lang, further plans, personalities revealed
Read Dogberry's "trial" for Conrade and Borachio. . . .
h/w: 155-169: Act V, i, first part. Pay attention to changing loyalties.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT A QUIZ IS POSSIBLE ON ANY DAY THAT YOU HAVE READING ASSIGNED. DOING THE READING IS A FUNDAMENTAL EXPECTATION!
