Honors Sophomore English Field Trip to the Grand
Nov. 4, 2010, 4 pm - end of play
Monmouth Theatre presents: Shakespeare’s “Comedy of Errors” Workshop
“Maine’s own Theatre at Monmouth will host a 90-minute Shakespeare workshop for teens and adults. Learn the rhythm and language that makes Shakespeare a performer’s dream and challenge.
Instructor: David Greenham is the producing director of Theater at Monmouth.”
$20 entitles workshop attendees free admission to the evening’s performance by Theater at Monmouth, “The Comedy of Errors.”
Here’s my dream: We gather at the high school and take a bus (or a van) to the workshop. At 5:30, we walk up to Angelo’s Pizza and have dinner, returning to the Grand in time to snag great seats for the show at 7:30 pm. Note: families are welcome to attend the play (please ticket separately) which would simplify transport home as well. . . .
Conflicts: some teams may go on to championships and so have practice, but most seasons will be over. Driver Ed. conflicts with the workshop, but if students taking DE could get a ride to Ellsworth by 5:30ish, they could get to have dinner and see the show. It would be a late night, but should be a great experience!
Notes: I am hoping we can get half the cost of the tickets underwritten, leaving students paying for their own meals and $10. Some full scholarships will be available--please let me know ASAP if your student could use one.
THIS WORKSHOP IS LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS, SO PLEASE RETURN THE FORM BELOW TO INDICATE INTEREST, WHICH WILL ALLOW ME/US TO PLAN TRANSPORTATION AND FUNDING! __________________________________________________________________________
