Scavenger hunt feedback. . .
So. . . big ideas from the book?
Book processing options: What your reading skills are like, what you need to develop.
Plot questions are appropriate for students who are developing readers looking to practice their reading skills and awareness of specific details;
thought questions are appropriate for students who are already confident readers who notice and discuss the abstract ideas in what they read and can provide specific details to back up their observations.

Tuesday, Feb. 10:

h/w: read up to p. 15 (first section).
Wed. Feb. 11: Advisory Schedule.
Discuss and review: what/who have you met?
Complete the processing option you and Ms. L have decided would be good for you. These are on the google classroom page!
h/w: read section two (16-35) and complete your thought OR plot questions.

Ch. 3 is a long one, and due for class on Friday, so let's read at least half in class.
h/w: read the rest of section three. . . .
Friday, Feb. 13: YES! We made it to the day before vacation.
Process reading: discussion of ch. 3. . . then: if we haven't finished reading it already, do it in class; we should have ch. 3 done before vacation.
h/w: ONLY IF YOU HAVEN'T READ ALL OF CH. 3 and done the processing questions: FINISH up to p. 62 and have done the applicable questions. Have a great break, and come back ready to rip into some Steinbeck discussion!
