h/w: I suggest you take your family (but not dogs) to the Twilight Walk at the Great Mountain Forest in E. Orland at 7:30 pm, but that's just me. Also, complete the h/w as assigned: READ SANDBURG'S "THE HARBOR" (I THINK PAGE 9 IN YOUR PACKET) and complete the assignment given in writing (comments for start; then a par or two to summarize your insights). REMEMBER to consider "Food. Music. Memory." as well! . We'll have an early release day (SO BE 10 mins early) on Monday, May 4, w/ time for Student Led Confs!

Read it, and also look at the figurative language page in the packet if you need a refresher for terms): then write a quick discussion of how Duffy uses various comparisons (simile, metaphor, personification) to make a dual point about love and about. . . an onion.
