"To the family of PFC Shepherd, Adam: I was fortunate to make the acquaintance of this fine soldier as well as that of his brother while being assigned to Co. A 3/502Inf as their senior medic during the first trip to Iraq in 2003-04. Adam was always the one with jokes in mind and has shown me the lighter side of life..... he will be greatly missed! My heart, prayers and thoughts go with all of you...... God bless" ~  SGT T. (doc G) GONZALES, WASHINGTON DC

See you again someday!" ~  Tasha Harris, Hamilton, Ohio

"I cannot believe it has almost been 1 year since we've lost you, It just seems like yesterday still. You would have been celebrating a birthday Christmas Day, don't think I wasn't thinking about you!! I miss you so much, I miss goofing off in class...I've still got pictures that I said I would return and never did, I'm glad I didn't because I now have something more than just memories to remember you by. Even though the memories far outweigh anything physical. I still remember the day I heard of the loss, and there was so much I wanted to do, but I wasn't able to... I love and miss you!

I don’t really know what to say that could help ease all of your guys' pain, but one thing I can tell you is Adam made an impact on everyone he talked to. He has always been able to find a way to make someone laugh, even when they wanted to cry. He was one of the BEST friends that anyone could ever have the privilege of growing up next door with. Adam is not gone, he lives on in all of our memories, and with a guy like him, trust me when I say this, he definitely will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you." ~  PFC Dennis Bluhm, Ft.Bliss, Texas
