"… I will never forget the look on my mothers face as she motioned "come here" to give me the news that I could already taste. She could hardly utter the words "he's gone " before I hit the ground screaming because it was too much to bare. I didn't know at that moment how to live life without you in it. Our childhood and all the memories started to flash from start, to the bitter finish. "I love you and thank you for always supporting me". Those words are stuck in my heart, where they"ll always be.  You sent this note just hours before you left. Not knowing at the time, that in a sense, it was our goodbye. Everyone's tragedy is different, but there is one thing the same, a wound that never heals, we just learn to play this unfair game. I'm sure you've grown beautiful wings now, and learned how to fly, and I know you wrap them tightly around the others who had to die. Especially little AJ who is only 11 and I'm sure needed a little guidance in the sky. Each day leading up to 28 May I remember it all, like a slow motion old movie, until the ultimate sacrifice you paid.  The pictures I can look at and remember on a regular day now cause heartache all over and such deep dismay. I see that smile and think, it'll all be ok...and then there's the ones that cut so deep it literally takes my breath away. I know you're with me every day, but I hate that way up in the sky is where you have to stay.  So here I sit, "Thinkin of the day when you went away, what a life to take, what a bond to break...I'll be missing you." Forever and always, my sweet Angel, I love you." — with Nancy Krestan

Obituary - Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes

…Adam was a 2007 graduate of Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School, where he excelled in sports and made a great number of close friends, as he did wherever he went. He was a loyal friend, stood up against any injustice, was the protector of anyone in need and always brought laughter to those around him… SPC Hamilton told people that he wanted to join the Army for one reason: to be a part of that team and to be a leader in it. "He truly wanted to serve his country", his father said, "He really loved it."
