"To MSG Rieck, you are the example in which all NCOs, men of Honor and Fathers should fallow. I looked onto you as you briefed your platoon one early morning in FOB Griffin and said to myself, that's a exceptional PSG does, he inspires his men. You did that and more. I am humbled to serve with you. To Jeff's son, know your fathers sacrifice had made an everlasting memory of greatest and selfless service in my heart and I thank you.

I never saw him in a bad mood, he was truly one of the best, most professional NCO's I’d ever worked with. For all of us who made it off the street that day, we will live full and complete lives to honor our brother's like MSG Jeff Rieck, who paid the ultimate cost. Forever with us." ~  Kawika Lau

"To the Rieck family, I have had the honor of serving with MSG Rieck since his deployment to Kosovo in 2004. That is when I got to know him by working alongside of him. While we served in different Companies after Kosovo, a man like Jeff was soon known throughout the Battalion. I would usually run into him during our Annual Training up in Michigan and he was always the same guy that I work with in 2004. I have hae the privilege and honor of serving alongside of him during this deployment. I can tell you that he was highly respected in the Company and the Battalion and he will be greatly missed by the men in his platoon and by the rest of us. RIP MSG Rieck. God has a special place in Heaven for heros and you my friend have earned it." ~  Glenn Townsend, Plain City, Ohio
