"Every day that I come into work I can’t help but look over at the desk behind me in the office where you used to sit. I just remember you being there drinking your daily health shakes, and laughing and smiling about something. I don’t think there was anyone in this world that your smile, your laugh, and your passion for life did not touch in some way. I remember one day while going to do a job, you were singing, and having a great time while driving the truck, and couldn’t help myself from just smiling inside, and acting like I don’t know her. “Don’t be so serious Heideman,” you would always say to me. It’s these little memories that I will always take with me when I remember you. Sometimes I weep a little, but mostly I just laugh, and smile because those were times I was lucky enough to be around such a wonderful person such as you. I’ll never forget the first time I got to work with you at the change of command ceremony. You were so confident, and sure, and happy about what you were doing. I never thought setting up a P.A. system good be so much fun, but it was you who made it that way. I don’t know if I’ll ever understand why such a person such as you had to be taken from this world, but I’m know the Lord had his reasons. You will make heaven so much more beautiful. You brought so much life in this world, and can’t ever be replaced. I finally got to see your wonderful family, and your awesome little girl you always talked about. She was so full energy, and happiness. I know that she got it from you, and that some of the light you shared with us can be shared through her. It’s been a little over a week now, and I still can’t believe that you left us, but then I don’t think you really left us at all. Your presence was so strong, and love for life was so powerful that we can still feel your spirit with us. I really don’t know how to thank you, much less say goodbye. But knowing your still with us, I don’t think we have to. I know that we all get to see each other again, and see that huge smile once again. My prayers go out to you and your family. God Bless." ~  Dustin Heideman, Fairchild AFB, Washington
