Installation of the ImageStream Software

The next few sections will cover the necessary steps to install the ImageStream software for the following operating systems:

- Microsoft Windows 8
- Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and 7
- Apple Mac OSX

Microsoft Windows 8

1. After the file is downloaded:
2. Open the .zip file.
3. Click the Compressed Folder Tools tab.
4. Click the Extract all button.

1. Choose a destination for the ImageStream files and click the Extract button.
2. Once the files have extracted, open the folder labeled Windows.
3. Right-click on the ISInstall.exe file and select Properties.
4. Click the Compatibility tab
5. Check the box labeled Run this program in compatibility mode for:.
6. Select Windows 7 from the drop-down list.

1. The ImageStream install menu displays. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the ImageStream software to your computer.

Microsoft Windows 7, Vista & XP

After the file is downloaded:

1. Open the .zip file and click the Extract all files button.

1. The ImageStream install menu displays. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the ImageStream software to your computer.

Apple Mac OSX

After the file is downloaded:

1. Open the Finder.
2. On the left menu, find your user name and click on it.
3. Open the Downloads folder (or the folder you have designated to receive downloaded files).
4. Locate the zip file and double-click to open.
5. Locate the folder labeled MacOSX and double-click to open.
6. Double-click on the file named ImageStreamInstallSplash.
7. The ImageStream install menu displays. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the ImageStream software to your computer.

Note regarding OS X 10.6 or later

Later versions of Mac OS X have a malware protection feature called Gatekeeper which may interfere with installing ImageStream. If you encounter problems with your install, try the following:

1. Perform steps 1 - 5 on page 71, “Apple Mac OSX”.
2. Control-click or right-click on the file named ImageStreamInstallSplash.
3. Select Open from the popup menu.

1. Click the Apply button.
2. Click the OK button.
3. Double-click on the ISInstall.exe file.

Choose a destination for the ImageStream files and click the Extract button.

Once the files have extracted, open the folder labeled Windows.
1. Double-click on the file named ImageStreamInstallSplash.

1. You will be asked if you want to open the application. Click Open.
