Parent sign up process

As classes are getting more familiar with Seesaw and the students are posting work, parents will be invited to view their child's Learning Journal. The sign up process is fairly straight forward. Here are some screenshots to walk you through the steps.

Firstly you'll receive an email from your child's teacher inviting you to join Seesaw. Inside this email will be a link for you to click on. Once you click the link you'll be taken to Seesaw and presented with a list of students in the class. Please choose your own child.

It is essential to start from the link, not the app! Many parents get lost at this step, because they are prompted for a QR code they don't have, and don't need! If you are prompted for a QR code, you are using the wrong app, you either need to use a computer browser, or use the Seesaw Parent and Family App on a mobile device.

You'll be prompted to check that you've chosen the correct child and later the class teacher will have to approve your request. You'll then be asked to create an account in Seesaw. If you have a Gmail account then you can click the 'Sign in with Google' button. If you don't have a Gmail email account then you will need to fill in the boxes with your name, email address and decide upon a password, another one for you to remember ;o)

Now you are in Seesaw and you will need to wait until the class teacher approves your request to access your child's Learning Journal. Now would be the perfect time to bookmark the site so you can return to it easily in future.

There is no point you trying to access your child's journal until you have been approved by the teacher, if you do you will be asked for a QR code you don't have and don't need!

You will receive an email explaining the approval step.

Once your request is approved you'll receive a second email from Seesaw.

Only once you have joined Seesaw should you try to access your child's LJ using the Seesaw Family app (there are 2 Seesaw apps on the App Store so choose the parent one as you will not be able to log in) or directly via the website http://web.seesaw.me.

If you have more than one child you can access all of their Learning Journals from the same app and account once each teacher has sent you the invite email.

Still no Luck?

If after all this you still have not been able to successfully connect, you are probably better off to contact Seesaw directly, using this parent support page: https://help.seesaw.me/hc/en-us/requests/new
