Pak choi or Chinese cabbage was the first direct sown seed in the 2013 season featured in the blog. Pak choi is favourite of Asian cookery found in Chinese (used in Chow mein), Korean (kimchi a sort of fermented sauerkraut with a bit of a punch) and Japanese dishes. It is a little exotic but becoming used as a green vegetable in Western cooking. High in Vitamin A and Vitamin C an alternative to growing more common and cheaper vegetables on your small patch!
