Yearning for the One
In the sermon this week, our guest speaker, Sam Leanor, shares with us his reflections on Adventist history and how we have sometimes been more concerned about being right, and proving it, than Jesus, Who is Himself the embodiment of the Truth.
If you have ever found yourself, at times, being more concerned about being right than being loving . . . being more concerned about the point we are making than the person we are making the point to . . . doing things in the name of Jesus that somehow did not honor the Spirit of Jesus or the way of being with people that He modeled for us . . . then you might just find this message one that speaks to your soul.
It is good to know that our spiritual pathologies are not unique to us, and encouraging to know that they don't have to be lethal. What a wonderful thing that we can learn from our past and grow toward a better future!

Luke 10 (ASV)
38 Now as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at the Lord's feet, and heard his word.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister did leave me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41 But the Lord answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things:
42 but one thing is needful: for Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
