Giving Thanks to Our King - 2

 Saying Thank You

Someone has said that the dominant characteristic of a healthy spiritual life is gratitude.  Gratitude. Living among people who are often focused on their sense of entitlement (what I deserve because of what I have earned or done), gratitude is not always the dominant characteristic.  It may seem like a small thing, but it makes all the difference in the world.

This Thanksgiving weekend, Pastor Jon invites us to revisit the well know story from Luke 17, of 10 lepers who were healed by Jesus, but only one of whom were made well.  Wellness has to do not with living without discomfort, but living out of gratitude.  The difference is huge.

We'd like to invite you to spend some time reflecting on the passage of scripture, and what it reminds us of.  If you would like to listen to the sermon once again, or perhaps for the first time, you can access our sermon library by clicking here, or through our livestream link here.

Luke 17

NIV

11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
