The Source of Help
What can be more frustrating than to think you are on track, only to discover that you missed a turn, or took a wrong one. Early GPS systems were famous for this. Even now, because continents are actually moving, there is some concern about making sure we are updating things on a regular basis, so we actually wind up where we think we are going.
Psalm 121 is a traveling Psalm - one of the songs of ascents - one that the children of Israel would sing on their journey to Jerusalem for the feasts each year. In many ways, these psalms were like a spiritual gps that keep them on track, focusing them on what was real, so they would not lose their way.
The reference or navigation points that help provide direction include: (Vs 2) the realization that my help comes from the LORD; (Vs 3) The LORD provides sure solid places on which to stand; (Vs 4-5) God is attentive to us, He does not waver; (Vs 5-6) God provides relief during tough times; (Vs 7) The LORD "keeps" me. He does not let me go. The navigation points remind us that God has not lost interest in us, He holds us, He is with us regardless of what we have to face. This is the Psalm that Pastor Jon explores with us this morning.

Psalm 121
NIV
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5
The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
