Christians at Play

. . . seriously.  Play is significant!   Really!

So what is this all about anyway?  How is it different from the other activities we engage in?  What makes it different?  What does this mean for Christians?  That's what Pastor Dustin continues to explore in the sermon this week.  To listen to the sermon again (or for the first time) click here:

 Take a few moments to reflect on the sermon and the passages to the right in the context of your own ability/willingness to play.  Do you sense God calling you toward greater playfulness?  What might that look like for you?

Matthew 18:1-5 (NIV)

   1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"

    2 He called a little child, whom he placed among them. 3 And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes a humble place—becoming like this child—is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Isaiah 55:12  (NIV)

11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

       It will not return to me empty,

       but will accomplish what I desire

       and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

    12 You will go out in joy

       and be led forth in peace;

       the mountains and hills

       will burst into song before you,

       and all the trees of the field

       will clap their hands.
