There are certain scenarios when specific machines are used to create/produce material that is then kept in stock. This production stock can then be used as part of material issue for construction/project or for trading operations.
1. Setting up the BOM
Before the production process starts - the material to be produced (referred to as the OUTPUT) must have a BOM (Bill of Material). The BOM for the OUTPUT defines the other material required to create one unit of the output.
Step -1 : Browse to SCM > Material
Step - 2: Find the OUTPUT Material - and click on Edit
Step 3: Click on the BOM Tab
The BOM Tab lets you add the INPUT material that is required to create one unit of the OUTPUT Material
1. Click on the BOM Tab - this will display the BOM Entry Screen
2. In the BOM Material field enter the INPUT Material (either Code or some part of the Material Name)
3. In the QTY field enter the QTY of the INPUT required to make/produce one UNIT of the OUTPUT Material
4. Click on Save
For instance in this example we have chosen two items each of which require 0.05 KGS and 0.03 CBM to complete 1 Unit of the OUTPUT material.
