In OMNI the document approval Workflow is centralized. The broad steps are:
Setup the Workflow Rule:
Every Document (PO, MR, MRN, Estimate, Quote, Voucher etc.) - has an Approval Role associated with it.
This Approval Role is either Job-specific or Accounting Centre-specific.
When a user is assigned a Job-specific Role for a particular document - say a Material Requisition (MR), this means that every MR generated in a particular Job - must be approved by that user before it can be used for further processing.
When a user is assigned an Accounting Centre-specific Role for a particular document - say a Journal Voucher (JV), this means that every JV generated in the entire Accounting centre - must be approved by that user for it to be posted in the books of accounts.
At the time of OMNI implementation the Approval Role can be changed from the default settings if required. It is recommended that the default settings be used. The list of Approval Roles and Documents requiring approval are:
Depending on Organizational needs the Role is assigned to a User for a given Job (if Job-specific) or to an Accounting Centre (if Accounting Center-specific). To assign Roles to Users follow these steps:
