Classwork/Homework - Wednesday, May 13

Post date: May 13, 2020 4:7:17 AM

Thank you to all who dropped off work to me yesterday.  It was so nice to see you all.  I am looking forward to our Zoom meeting on Thursday.  Our meeting is scheduled for 11:30.  The link will be emailed to you later today.  Here is today's work:

1.  SeeSaw - Please post your ELA sheet to SeeSaw today.

2.  ELA - In "I Wanna Iguana" Mom and Alex had different points of view about getting an iguana.  Reread pages 84 and 85 of the story and then, using evidence from the text, complete the ELA sheet below.

3.  Grammar - Today we will review the five parts of the friendly letter.  Look at the two sheets below to learn the parts of the letter and see how they are used. There is no written work on either of these sheets.

4.  Phonics - Do page 216 to practice working with our high frequency words of the week.  You should now have your phonics books so I will no longer be posting the phonics pages to the class page.

5.  Spelling - Write each of these words three times and use each in a sentence.

                            who            new            look            read            shall

6,  Religion - Today is the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima.  It was on this day many, many years ago that Our Blessed Mother appeared to three young children.  Read about how the Church honors Mary, the Mother of Jesus on pages 286 and 287 of your religion book.

7.  Math - Practice telling time.  Do pages 171 and 172 in your skinny math book.

8.  Science - Continue to work on your Science booklets.  They are due on Friday.

Just for Fun:  Try this drawing activity from Scholastic at Home.  If you do the activity I would love to see it.  Show me on SeeSaw.

Drawing Activity: As I Grow Up

Frogs change a lot as they grow. Humans change as they grow too!              Get a blank piece of paper. First, draw what you looked like as a baby. If you’re not sure what you looked like, ask an adult to show you one of your baby photos.  Then, draw what you look like today.                                                          Finally, draw what you might look like as an adult! Use your imagination. Add as much detail as possible. Ask yourself: What job will I have? Where will I live?
