Classwork/Homework - April 21

Post date: Apr 21, 2020 2:48:47 AM

I hope you all received my email yesterday.  Please feel free to email me back with your concerns and questions.  Here is today's work:

1.  SeeSaw - Today on SeeSaw  you will see two assignments - one Math sheet to be done right on SeeSaw and the other instructing you to take a picture of your completed Social Studies sheet.  Please complete and submit both assignments.

2.  ELA - Use each of the next three vocabulary words (agree, valuable, refuse) in a sentence.  Then read pages 4 to 9 in the Money Matters story on the Pearson Website.  Using evidence from these page, answer the questions on the page below from your Readers and Writers Journal.

3.  Grammar - Do the page below to show what you know about contractions.

4.  Phonics - Sort this week's "ar" words by completing page 189.

5.  Spelling - Write each of these words three times and use each in a sentence.

            park        shark        smart        start        yard

6.  Religion - Read and complete the Easter chapter - pages 311 and 312.

7.  Math - Do the assignment posted on SeeSaw to practice counting pennies, nickels and dimes.  Then do pages 157 and 158 in your skinny math book.  Do you want to hear a fun song to help you learn about the value of coins?  Check this out:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnXJGNo08v0

8.  Social Studies -  I understand there were some problems yesterday for some of you as you tried to log into the Brainpopjr website.  If you were not able to complete yesterday's assignment, please try to complete it today.  From the movie you viewed yesterday, you were taught the difference between "Needs and Wants."  On sheet below, draw (and color) pictures of things that you need and things that you want.  Then follow the directions in SeeSaw to take a picture of your work and send it to me.

Just for Fun:  Did you know that with every movie on Brainpopjr there are also games, jokes and drawing activities?  Go back to the movie on "Needs and Wants" and explore what else you can do to practice and learn more about this topic.

Also... if you were in school you would be having Spanish class with Mrs. G this afternoon.  Look at her class page to see if there are any assignments for you from her.
