Classwork/Homework - Tuesday, May 12

Post date: May 12, 2020 4:29:50 AM

I will be at the school today between 2:00 and 3:00 to collect work. I will have some things to give you also. I'll be by the Pre-K doors on Penn Avenue.  I'm looking forward to seeing you.  Don't forget to wear your mask!

Here is today's work:

1.  SeeSaw - Please post both of your ELA sheets and page 367 from your Math book to SeeSaw today.

2.  ELA - First, take the "I Wanna Iguana" vocabulary quiz below.  Then review the story.  Choose one character from the story (Alex or Mom) and use the ELA sheet #2 to tell about some of that person's character traits.  Remember, character traits tell what a person is like.  We can tell a lot about a character by looking at what the character says and does.  Kind, funny, caring and responsible are all character traits.  Please post both sheets to SeeSaw today.

3.  Phonics - Do page 219 to sort this week's Spelling words.

4.  Spelling - Write each of these words three times and use each in a sentence.

                rare            scare            square            stair            wear

5.  Religion - Today we will be skipping some Chapters and heading to Chapter 25 - We Honor Mary and the Saints.  Read and do pages 284 and 285.

6.  Math - Today's work switches our focus from counting money to telling time. We will be telling time to the hour and half hour today.  Please do pages 365 to 368.  Post page 367 to SeeSaw so I can see your work.  If you need instruction in telling time you can use the following link to have a teacher do the first page and a half with you.

There are also a few movies on BrainPopJr about telling time if you'd like to check them out.  There is also a paper clock below if you'd like to make one to help you with this part of the math chapter.  If you do make a clock I would suggest you paste the clock on card stock or cardboard.

7.  Science - We will wrap up what we've learned about frogs by putting together a booklet about the life cycle of frogs.  Please print out the 4 pages below and complete your booklet.  The completed booklet is due on Friday.

Just For Fun:  Have you been practicing your cursive writing?  Since we are not together to learn more letters you can learn them on your own if you'd like.  We were just about to learn the capital J in cursive writing.  Here's a sheet to help you learn that letter.

Today is the day we would have Spanish Class.  Don't forget to check out Mrs. G's class page.
