Classwork/Homework - Friday, March 20

Post date: Mar 20, 2020 3:28:39 AM

We made it through week one!  But I miss you all very much.  I'm so happy to see that many more children have gone on to Freckle and Raz-Kids this week.  Good job everyone!  Here is today's work:

1.  ELA - Think about the story "A Chair for My Mother" and write a response to the following from your Reader's and Writer's Journal. You will be making an inference.  Remember, making an inference means figuring out something that the author doesn't actually say.  You can use clues that are in the text and things from your own mind to write your response.  Write your answer on looseleaf or in a notebook.

DIRECTIONS:  Write about the next item that the family will save up for.  Include at least one detail that describes the item and one detail that describes the reason why the family would want to save for that item.  Revisit "A Chair for My Mother" to look for ideas about what the family might purchase.

2.  Spelling - Do the "Missing Letter" spelling sheet (There are 2 pages.)  Don't forget to write each word on the line after you circle the missing letter.

3.  Phonics - Page 156 from the phonics book.  Read the connected text and then follow the directions to interact with the text.  You will be looking for words with the long o sound.  Because the directions on the page include circling and putting boxes around words I thought it best to give you the page so that you can print it.

4.  Math - Please review three digit subtraction with regrouping by doing pages 145 to 148 in your skinny (homework) math book.

5.  Religion - Do the "Project Disciple" pages - pages 192 and 193 in your religion book.

6.  Science - Today is the first full day of spring.  Think back to our science lessons about the cycle of the seasons and fill in the blanks on the "About Spring" sheet.
