Ice Final Project.mp4

Throughout this year, each of us ICE students have grown in many ways. We’ve learned so much but we’ve also learned better learning skills. During winter camping my beliefs and skills were challenged. I’d been put in a unique environment where I had to learn and apply new skills like cooking and building. I also needed to learn what it meant to work with people that I usually wouldn’t get along with. Though not a radical change, it was a very different experience. By interviewing experts we grew as learners. For most of the year our sources had primarily been our teachers or research online. This is good for most projects but it’s not quite as instructive as a primary source like Carolyn Bennett or Senator Moodie. By meeting with Indigenous leaders later in the year we were able to learn about our country and ourselves as citizens. By listening to the advice of the indigenous while learning about the North we’re taking steps in the right direction for Canada as a country.
