Hundreds of billions of years into the future, humanity will create the first Dyson Sphere, an object which could harness the entire power of the Sun. However, after tasting the first bits of this new technology, humanity hungered for more. They went into space to begin a new era, one among the stars. They created multiple Dyson Spheres, harvesting the energy of multiple suns. With this new source of energy came the technology to bend space and time to jump wherever they needed to be. With both wormholes and Dyson Spheres at their disposal, it wasn’t long before humanity had harvested all of the stars. However, they were unaware of the damage they were leaving behind. For after harvesting a star, it soon died a few years after. Scientists could not figure out the reason for this, but why did it matter? After all, there was a whole universe full of stars to harvest. But little by little, all the stars were harvested until there was only one left and the last remnants of humanity gathered at the planet orbiting this sole survivor.

Dr.Jule paced back and forth in the control room, waiting, watching. The team had just gone through and she was anxious for news. The whole survival of the human race depended on this, but more importantly, her reputation. She had foreseen the great blackout, but no one had listened to her, so she privately started doing her own research. She started formulating a plan, a plan for when humanity would realize its mistake but be too late to fix it. A plan that was needed right now. Her life's work was at stake and this mission would determine it all.
“We’ve established contact!” The whole room erupted into cheers. The team had survived the journey. The first obstacle had been overcome, but there was still more to be determined. Dr.Jule rushed to the control panel.
“Get me Anderson.” She waited as the people on the other side of the line got their captain on the mic.
“This is Anderson”
“So”, said Jule, “What do you see, is it habitable?”
“It’s more than we could’ve ever expected! The laws here are very similar to our own and the sky. It's full of stars! I’ve never seen a sky like this before except in the pictures taken before the Great Blackout!’
Dr.Jule released all the tension that had been building up over the week. She had done it. Humanity would survive.

Artemis wasn’t sure how to feel. Today was the big day, the last day that she would be spending on this planet. In a few hours she would board the fold vessel, travel through a black hole, and be deposited in a new world. For her whole life she had been told about this day, and now that it was finally here she wasn’t sure what to expect.
Fifty years ago renowned scientist Avery Jule designed a ship capable of traversing a rip in spacetime, commonly known as a blackhole. With this new discovery came hope that humans would be able to continue to grow and expand. Some had called her crazy, but with the last star in this universe dying, it was the only option left. So for the last fifty years the remainder of the human race had been transported through this black hole into a new dimension, rich with stars and energy.
The ship going through today would be the last ship to the black hole. Everything else had already been transported. Artemis looked out of her window at the deserted streets. She watched as all the streetlights were slowly shut down, one by one, in preparation for abandonment of the planet. She probably would have left earlier except for the fact that her father was overseeing the departures. He couldn’t leave until everyone else had left and she refused to go without him.
Artemis saw the transporter arriving at her doorstep. The small craft stood at attention, waiting to deliver her to the space station. Artemis gathered the last of her belongings and got ready to leave. She took one last look at her home. It would be the last time she ever saw it. The gray walls, the constellated ceiling, the kitchen, the eating room, the TV space. All of it abandoned, never to be seen again. With a deep breath Artemis stepped out of the housingblock and boarded the transporter.
“Time to start a new chapter in life.”
