MANDATORY NOTIFICATIONS
IN PROGRESS OR TIME-SENSITIVE INCIDENTS OCCURING ON CAMPUS, DISPATCH RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY CHIEF:
REQUIRES PHONE CALL
Any injury to a member of the Police Department.
Traffic Accident involving a member of the Police Department.
Any injury to a subject by a member of the Police Department.
Threats directed toward the University or any employee.
Significant damage to University property.
Fire/Accidents that incur structural damage must be immediately reported to appropriate facilities personnel.
Crowd control / Event problems or concerns
Traffic Accident where an injury occurs, non-life-threatening, life-threatening or a fatality.
Major Crimes occurring on campus; in progress: Burglary, Robbery, Sex Offense, Arson, Hate crime, Active Shooter, etc.
Significant on-campus injury to University employees and/or students that requires medical treatment.
Any on-campus injury to a University employee/student by another University employee/student.
Any on-campus incident involving a University employee or student that results in arrest or involuntary removal from duty/campus.
Any other situation where you believe the Chief should be notified.
Anything that you can envision turning into something newsworthy.
REQUIRES A TEXT VIA MONGOOSE
Notify the Chief of any in progress or delayed crimes surrounding agencies (Orem, Provo, Vineyard) are responding to that are within 1 mile of any campus buildings. Such as apartment complexes surrounding UVU Main Campus, West Campus, areas near Orem East Campus, Geneva Properties (Vineyard), UVU Airport Hangars, UFRA (Provo), etc.
IF YOU CANNOT GET A HOLD OF THE CHIEF BY PHONE, SEND A TEXT THROUGH MONGOOSE.
CALL COMMENT IN THE CAD NOTES – EX: 28A01 OR CHIEF NOTIFIED VIA PHONE, TEXT, ETC
IF AN OFFICER TAKES A REPORT OF A DELAYED CRIME THAT OCCURRED ON CAMPUS, IT WILL BE THE OFFICER OR THE ON DUTY SERGEANT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE CHIEF.
