ELEVATOR PROBLEM PROTOCOL
ELEVATOR IS MALFUNCTIONING WITH NO ONE LOCKED INSIDE:
Create a CAD call using nature code UVLOG-ALARM
Dispatch an officer to verify the issue.
During business hours, Notify Facilities
After hours - after the officer has verified the issue, create a work order online at http://www.uvu.edu/facilities/ with the elevator number - have custodial or officer place an Out of Service Note on elevator.
If requested by officer or facilities, notify the correct Electrician via contact list and or elevator company TK Elevator 801-908-7433 or 877-230-0303
ELEVATOR MALFUNCTIONS WITH SOMEONE LOCKED INSIDE (ELEVATOR RESCUE)
Create a call in Spillman using the nature code - Transfer Fire - assign officers to the LAW type of that call.
If possible, confirm voice contact inside the elevator and check for injuries/medical problems
If medical/fire condition is present, try and obtain patient condition - (Gender, Age, Cons/Breathing status, medical issue)
Make sure Metro Dispatch is notified by phone or CAD IM to ensure they are aware of the detail
ELEVATOR ALARM ACTIVATION FROM INSIDE ELEVATOR
If voice contact is made with someone inside the elevator after activation is received, and it was accidental - no help is needed. Create a CAD call using UVLOG-ALARM and assign it to yourself and close it out.
If NO voice contact is made inside the elevator after activation is received, create a call using UVLOG-ALARM and dispatch an officer to verify no emergency.
*** THERE IS A CAMERA IN THE AREA OF THE ALARM THE ELEVATOR TO OBTAIN MORE INFORMATION FOR OFFICERS/FIRE DEPARTMENT
If the Fugal Gateway elevator needs to be reset, it can be done from the Keller Building. The reset button is by the fire panel.
