As the younger sister of a highly loved hero of the continent, Charlene was born within the shadow of her older brother. But instead of feeling burdened with trying to 1-up him, she idolizes him highly, dressing in a similar way to him in hopes to be recognized as a secondary hero, supporting her brother.
Charlene carries a similar appearance to her brother, Charlie, with a red cape, cyan scarf, an orange hat with red and cyan feathers, large orange boots and brown shorts. She has the same beige skintone and brown eyes as her brother, with very long, somewhat curly brown hair, and has a curvy figure.
Charlene is highly energetic and somewhat reckless. Her devotion to her brother is her main driving force. However, her naive personality often gets her in trouble. While she tries her best to catch up to her brother and be as well renowned as he is, she is having a hard time keeping up when people don't take her seriously, instead thinking she is but a huge fan of him and trying to mimick him. When she hears that her idolizing her brother is cute, but nothing about her being a reliable ally, her feelings tend to be hurt, but she usually pushes to make people find her more memorable by helping them out. She just wishes people would look up to her as they do with her brother.
In the middle of a certain mission, Charlene can be found in a village approaching her brother and pleading to let her join the army, to which Charlie will decline as it is far too dangerous for her and isn't "All fun and games", and rather "War", which she will explains she understands, but wants to help anyways and truly hopes she could prove herself useful, in which Charlie then gets to choose weather his sister should join the party or if she should return to the village.
If Charlene is asked to join, then she will express how happy she is to help, and say "I promise, brother, I will not let you down!"
If Charlene is instead declined again, she will tear up slightly before Charlie tells her to safely return to their village and Charlene gives seemingly gives in and walks off to the direction of their village. But after the party readies to leave the village themselves on the opposite end of the village, Charlene stops them, still teared up and hurt. "Brother..." she will whisper to him. And then Charlie will ask if she heard him, and tells her again to return to the village as he fears she will be hurt, in which Charlene will decline, expressing that she will not leave to the village, and instead force her brother to join the party. In which, Eleanor and Leo will explain that it might be for the best, as she seems to be very wanting to join. And if Arabella is also in the party, she will ask "You can't say no to such a cute girl...let alone your own SISTER, can you?" in which Charlie will give in and accept Charlene in the party, but telling her to remain safe, which Charlene will then explain she understands this is not fun and games and that she will pull her weight, and even try to make him regret not accepting her into the army earlier.
While this is where her recruitment ends, she is a permanent party member who is capable of replacing Charlie as the leader if certain requirements are met. Charlie and Charlene must reach a C Level Interaction, which will start conversations in which Charlie abruptly ends, telling Charlene to stop fooling around and focus on the battling.
Later on when a B Level Interaction is reached, the two speak further about what Charlie said last time to her, and she asks if she could lead the charge, in which Charlie will explain "Being a leader is not easy at all, why would you even want to take charge? Aren't you happy just being in the army to begin with?", in which Charlene will insist. But eventually, Charlie will respond "Being a leader isn't just about being strong, or tactical, the people who you fight alongside are what makes us all stand for a cause. If you want to be a valid leader, then getting to know the people around you is probably the most important part of being a good leader!" in which, Charlene will abruptly leave with a light in her eyes, with he brother being left confused.
If Charlene then reaches C Level Interaction with atleast 7 allies other than Charlie, then an A Level Interaction will unlock between the two, which Charlie will explain he heard lots of great things from the others about her, finding her to be quite charming, yet passionate, in which, Charlie will allow Charlene to be selected instead of Charlie as Leader (Since Charlie will be locked to Leader and forced into combat every mission until then), making the two interchangeable. Charlie can still be selected as a backup fighter, but Charlene will be allowed to be picked as Leader instead.
