She is a very unique individual, who was born with the ability to capture other people's souls, empowering her stats for a short bit when she does. However, this skill is one she does not like using, ever. Therefore, she tends to have bad morale when she uses it and does not feel like using it for a while after making use of it. However, King Dearg, a king who has a lust for power, decided to use her powers to strengthen his army. Forcing her to join his forces. She has such a gentle and composed personality, so she couldn't decline, despite her best efforts.
A few years after this even occurring and still being apart of the army, she had a bit of a mental breakdown, mid-war, and the king got angry at her, ordering soldiers to knock her out, she immediately captured hundreds of their souls in self-defense, and couldn't bare what she just did; she killed many, many people, unwillingly. This made the king want to kill her, so she fled the kingdom. She eventually found a small village and passed out while approaching it. An old lady found her and brought her in, cared for her.
For the next few days, she laid unconscious, once awakening, she thanked her for what she had done, and asked to stay, the lady, who questioned her a bit about it, Alani couldn't bear to think of what she did, and declined to give an answer for a year or so, but she still accepted to let Alani stay, hidden from society. Qirmizi, the grandmother, and Shui, the young oracle, were the only people she saw for 2 years, eventually, she opened up to the rest of the village, slowly.
Alani has long ginger hair with three spikes pointing upwards at the top, has dark brown eyes and a beige skintone. She wears skull head earrings, has a blue top with a long dark brown skirt and around her waist, an orange and blue robe that flows to the floor. She has a large golden ring with 6 spikes on it around her hands, wears blue gloves and has long dark brown boots below her skirt. She stands at 5'10".
Despite her powerful abilities and relation to death and flames, she is an extremely sensitive and polite girl. Alani fears mostly everything she does not have full certainty of and is afraid of saying the wrong things and doing wrong actions to prevent hurting people. She is very hard to approach, as her trauma has prevented her from growing fast relationship with people.
She has huge anxiety and wants to stay away from people as much as possible, but a part of her wants to get out in the world again. One day, Shui wanted to get out of the village with Alani, but scared, she declined. But Shui left on her own, causing Alani to panic a bit. Qirmizi was not around, so she quickly chased after her. They went to a nearby village, and soon enough, soldiers from the kingdom arrived after them. They attacked Shui, and this cause Alani to panic more, and captured their souls, too. Shui fainted out of fear, and Alani quickly escorted Shui back to their village, and once she regained consciousness, she begged Shui not to tell anybody about what happened, she was scared of what might happen.
