Intro
Teaching grammar is often highly theoretical, so how can we make it more fun and engaging?
This project introduces an interactive way to teach the Swedish imperative at an intermediate level. The website-based materials are for teachers whose students already know how to form the imperative and need practice. Students choose a traditional Swedish recipe and rewrite it using imperative forms, then discuss their versions in small groups to self-correct before submitting them to the teacher. After receiving feedback, students use their revised recipe to create a video in which they cook or bake while giving instructions in Swedish. The videos are then shown in class and can be uploaded to a learning platform. On presentation day, students may also bring their food so everyone can try Swedish delicacies and exchange recipes.
