Dungeons & Dragons' potential in the ESL Classroom

Intro

It is not an uncommon ocurrence for games to be used in the Language Classroom. Table Top Role Playing Games (TTRPGs), however, are a rarity. This podcast serves as an introduction to include TTRPGs in the ESL classroom and hopes to inspire educators to try and use them more or even research in this still relatively unexplored field. The TTRPG further explored in this podcast is Dungeons and Dragons (D&D). This podcast briefly explains what Role-Playing Games are and gives a brief overview over D&D and its history. Then it highlights challenges educators need to be aware of when planning to use D&D in their classroom and benefits using D&D could reap. The podcast finishes with the host’s own ideas of activies D&D could be used for in the ESL classroom.
