Intro
The website Nederlandse Dialecten [nederlandsedialecten.nl] presents an overview of dialects and regional languages spoken in the Netherlands. It focuses on two language variations spoken in the south of the Netherlands: Limburgs (Limburgish) and Brabants (Brabantian). My mother is originally from the province of Limburg (where Limburgish is spoken), and I, myself, am from the province of Noord-Brabant (where Brabantian is spoken). That is why I understand the importance of appreciating language variations, and educating people about these variations. I think it can be helpful to those who learn the Dutch language, as they will be faced with these variations in the Netherlands. It can facilitate comprehension, and integration in the Dutch society. I also think it could benefit Dutch people, as language variations are often looked down on.
