Intro
This project investigates the existing literature surrounding inclusive writing in French, and expands on nascent efforts to design classroom resources for teaching inclusive and gender-queer-affirming grammar. The little scholarship that does exist around inclusive French grammar is largely didactic–explaining and presenting different systems and rules, as opposed to offering practical advice as to how to integrate it into foreign-language curriculums (Carlini 2020) This project hypothesizes that there exists concrete, effective ways to instrumentalize those systems and rules in teaching; as such, it will seek both to collect existing materials on inclusive writing, and offer ideas as to how to incorporate it into the classroom. The website features a brief description & history of inclusive writing, supplementary material and articles, resource guides for learning inclusive terms, forms & oral communication strategies, and lesson plans for incorporating inclusive pedagogies into the French-language classroom.
