Sometimes we struggle to find diverse and authentic materials for our language classes. Maybe we know a really good short story, or we came across some amazing article, however, it is not completely suited to be comprehensible input for our students. I am particularly excited with the idea of making amazing hispanic writers known in our Spanish classes. Reading can help students broaden their lexicon, exercise reading comprehension and most importantly to enjoy the creativity of fiction and get connected with a different culture. This website includes adapted short stories that are related to the topics we cover on Intermediate Spanish II. Based on the textbook, Protagonistas, I have included relevant vocabulary on each text presented here, along with two discussion questions, for a follow up activity during class. There are voice recordings available, in order to use this material both as reading comprehension or listening exercises, depending on the needs of the class.
At the end of every page you can find the bibliography to look for the original text. In the cases that it was possible to find it online, I included the link for consultation.
