Intro
A second language learner's journey often starts with a song, a TV show, a passion for languages in general, a visit to a foreign country, or in a class! Though very exciting, this experience can be frustrating, especially for learners of Arabic who find that this beautiful language's rules and sounds are somewhat difficult. This project contains a list of words that have been borrowed from English into the Gulf Arabic Dialect and their use in the daily lives of native speakers in the Gulf Arabian Peninsula. I find that it is useful in any second language learning journey to start with looking at common words with one’s own native language. This could help ease the language learning process. This site is created for learners of Arabic in L2 classrooms, for those interested in Arabic dialects, for travelers to the region who want to communicate with the locals without having to learn the rules and grammar of the Arabic language.
