Astronomical research in Taiwan

Taiwan's academic circle of astronomy is mainly comprised of the Academia Sinica's Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics; the Graduate Institute of Astronomy, National Central University; the Institute of Astrophysics, National Taiwan University; the Institute of Astronomy, National Tsing Hua University; the Departments and Graduate Institutes of Physics of both National Cheng Kung University and Tamkang University; and the Department and Graduate Institute of Earth Science, National Normal University. The international astronomical research projects that Taiwan has participated in include the Yuan-Tseh Lee Array for Microwave Background Anisotropy, or AMiBA; the Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array, or ALMA; and the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System, or Pan-Starrs.

This exhibit is mainly introducing the astronomical research programs Taiwan has been involved, including SMA, AMIBA, ALMA, AOS II, Pan-stars.
